All COVID-19 related restrictions are lifted! ‘3G on arrival in Austria’ still applies at the moment, but probably not for much longer. Masks are only compulsory in supermarkets, public transport, banks, hospitals, doctors and pharmacies.

Yes! It will be possible to enjoy your Christmas holidays in the Austrian snow. But, of course, there are a few things you need to know. Basically, you will need a 2G status when you want to participate in any public life in Austria. This means you have to be either cured from Covid 19 or vaccinated with an EMA approved vaccin. Children under 12 years don’t need a 2G status and children from 12 up to and including 14 years can obtain their 2G status by serial testing. Persons of 15 years and older are considered adults in this matter. On the German info page I tried to make an overview of what is needed in order to obtain your 2G status. New: Studio-apartment for 2 to 4 persons

We turned the old 6-bed room into a cosy studio-apartment. The studio features a double bed, 2 bunk beds, a private bathroom and a separate room with seating area and kitchenette. Ideal for families!

More good news: attractions in the area open up

In May and June, most of the cable cars and attractions in the area around Niedernsill start up again. And the popular Großglockner High Alpine Road will be navigable again by May 28th. So even in this – somewhat special – summer 2020, a visit to Casa Montana is definitely worth it

Corona virus: all ski resorts and hotels close their doors starting Sunday 16th of March 2020.

I feel very sorry for those of you who have to cancel (postpone!) their well-deserved winter holiday. Those are draconic measures with far reaching consequences for all of us. Let’s hope they bring the desired effect and we can meet again – virus-free – next summer.
